13 <br /> <br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> W~EP~AS, Robert Townsen~ williams, has served the City <br />of portsmouth in an exemplary manner for fifteen years, the <br />last six as City Managerw. during which time tremendous <br />strides have taken place within the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> ~EREAS~ d~ring his tenure as City Manager, the dedication <br />and i~agination of Robert Townsend Williams, co~ined with <br />his management and financial skills, has resulted in the <br />improvement of the type and scope of services and facilities <br />provided for the citizens; and <br /> WHEREAS, the commencement of the Waterfront Development <br /> Plan~ the establishment of a Human Services Delivery System, <br /> the development of computerized financia!reporting systems <br /> and the furtherance of industrial and port development within <br /> the City of Portsmouth are monuments to the accomplishments <br /> of Rebert Townsend Williams. <br /> N©W~ TB~REF©RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br /> of ~ortsmouth, V~r~inia, that ~t recognizes officiall~ the <br /> distinguised and d~dicated service rendered .by Robert Townsend <br /> Williams, and by means of this resolution, call attention of <br /> our citizens to his many accomplishments. <br /> BE ~T FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be made a <br /> part of the permanent records of the City, and a Copy be pre- <br /> sented to Mr. Williams, attesting to the appreciation'of this <br /> Council and the citizens of the City of Portsmouth for his <br /> contributions during his years of honorable service. <br /> Presented by Members of the Council of the City of <br /> Portsmouth, Virginia on January 27, 1981. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
