74 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CERTAIN <br />PROPERTY TO THE PORTSMOUTH PORT AND INDUSTRIAL CO~4ISSION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by deed dated February 10, 1981, recorded in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, in Deed Book 814, page 511, the City of Portsmouth <br />conveyed a fee simple interest together with permanent easements <br />in and to a portion of the former U.S. Coast Guard Base to the <br />Department of Highways and Transportation of the Commonwealth of <br />Virginia for the purpose of construction of the second downtown <br />tunnel crossing of the Elizabeth River; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by the terms of said deed there was accepted from <br />this Conveyance and retained by the City of Portsmouth certain <br />buildings designated as buildings D-5, D-7 and D-8 and a ten ton <br />crane which is located in building D-5, which buildings and equip- <br />ment are to be removed from the property prior to construction of <br />the downtown tunnel; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission has <br />the capability of marketing the said buildings and equipment in <br />connection with other port related development activities; and <br />has agreed to pay to the City the sum of $18,000.00 for said <br />buildings and equipment and to have the same removed from the <br />property. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City'of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to convey certain property designated as <br />buildings D-5, D-7, and D-8 and the ten ton crane which is located <br />in building D-5to the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission <br />for the sum of $18,000.00. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held September 29, 1981. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
