43 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE COUNCIL OF <br />THE CIT~ DF PORTSMOUTH TO THE MANOR HIGH SCHOOL GOLF TEAM~AND <br />THEIR COACH O~ WINNING THE GROUP AAA VIRGINIA STATE HIGH SCHOOL <br />GOLF C~M~IONSHIP FOR 1982. <br /> <br />1982 <br />and <br /> <br />~BR=AS, the Manor High School Golf Team ha~ won the <br />Group AAA Virginia State High School Golf Championship; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Manor High School golf team members are <br />Robert 2. Bell, Stephen Henderson, Roger W. Newsome, Timothy A. <br />Newsome and Robert B. Sarver; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, the Manor High School golf team placed three <br />player~,in the top eight indigidual leaders in the Group ~ <br />Virginia State High School Championship Tournament; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the coach of the Manor High School golf te~m, <br />Charles ~eshotgun" Brow,-has been nominated as National High <br />School Golf Coach of th~ Year and is among the eight finalists <br />for this award; a~4 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS., th~ ~anor High School golf zeam by its successful <br />athletic achievements as a team and by the individual achievements <br />of the team members ~nd coach has represente~ the City of <br />Portsmouth in a c6n~mendabte manner throughon% the Commonwealth <br />of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, ¥irginia, that the Council hereby extends its <br />congratulations to the Manor High Schooi golf team and their <br />coach on winning of the Group AB~ Virginia High School Golf <br />Championship for 1982. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held May 25, 1982. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
