85 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY I.L~NAGER TO FILE AN <br />APPLICATION WITH THE VIRGINIA STATE LIBRARY FOR FUNDING <br />OF A PORTION OF THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION OF AN ADDITION TO <br />THE CHURCHLAND B~CH LIBP/~RY PURSU_~NT TO THE LIBRARY SERVICES <br />AND CONSTRUCTION ACT~ TITLE ii. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is eligible to submit an <br />application to the Virginia State Library for funding of projects <br />pursuant %o %he Library Services and Construction Act, Title II; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such funding may be used for the construction of <br />an addition to the Churchland Branch Library; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such funding shall be conditioned upon the City <br />paying one-half of the cost of said construction; and <br /> %~EREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth has reviewed <br />and considered the regulations and conditions of said application <br />and deem the s~.e to be appropriate. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br /> of Portsmouth~ Virginia~ that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br /> is, authorized to file an application with the Virginia State <br /> Library for funding of a portion of the cost of construction of <br /> an addition to the Churchland Branch Library pursuant to the <br /> Library Services ~nd Construction Act, Title II. <br /> <br /> Adopted by %he Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> at a meeting held September 13, 1983. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
