78 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR, RECEIVE AND <br />EXPEND FUNDS FROM FEDERAL, STATE AND OTHER AGENCIES NOT <br />PRESENTLY BUDGETED IN THE 1985-86 SCHOOL BUDGET; DIRECTING <br />THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS TO REPORT RECEIPT AND <br />EXPENDITURE OF SUCH FUNDS TO THE CITY MANAGER. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, educational funds from a variety of <br />governmental agencies become available during the <br />year; and <br /> <br />fiscal <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in many occasions, priority of funding is based <br />upon timely application. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the School Board of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, is authorized to make <br />application for, receive and expend the funds from Federal, <br />State and other government agencies not previously budgeted <br />in the 1985-86 school budget. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of <br />Schools is directed to advise the City Manager of receipt and <br />expenditure of such funds. <br /> <br /> This resolution shall be effective from the date of its <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held July 23, 1985. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
