AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF POWELL STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Manor Green Associates has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter- described <br />portion of Powell Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council on August <br />13, 1985, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter-described portion of said street and to report in <br />writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing the said street; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the <br />closing and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Powell Street be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br />Powell Street <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, <br />situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />being the underlying fee simple in and to the <br />area known as Powell Street being twelve feet <br />(12') in width, and extending from the eastern <br />line of Haysom Street to its dead-end <br />approximately two hundred fifty-five feet <br />(255') to the east. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held November 26, 1985. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
