AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 40-31, 40-68.1 (e), 40-70 (b), 40-71 (b), 40-76 (b), 40-78 (b), 40-79 (b), 40-121 (a) (i), AND 40-121 (a) (v), PERTAINING TO TEMPORARY RESIDENCE FACILITIES. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section 40-31 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by adding thereto the following definition to read as fcllows: Section 40-31. Definition. TEMPORARY RESIDENCE FACILITY: Any facility to provide emergency group living accommodations as a single housekeeping unit for up to 90 days for the maintenance and care of adults, children and families need of emergency housing including, but not limited facilities qualified to be licensed by the City of Portsmouth o~ the Commonwealth of Virginia. to, 2.
