Section 4-48. Kennel dogs. <br /> <br /> The owner of a kennel shall securely fasten the license <br />tag issued pursuant to this division to the kennel enclosure <br />in full view and keep one of the identification plates pro- <br />vided therewith attached to a collar of each dog authorized <br />to be kept enclosed in the kennel. Any identification plates <br />not so in use must be kept by the owner or cusodian and promptly <br />shown to any animal warden or other officer upon request. A <br />kennel dog shall not be permitted to stray beyond the limits <br />of the enclosure, but this shall not prohibit removing dogs <br />therefrom temporarily while under the control of the ov~er <br />or custodian thereof for the purpose of exercising, hunting, <br />breeding, trial or show. <br /> <br />Section 4-49. Disposition of unlicensed dogs. <br /> <br /> It shall be the duty_ of the animal warden to impound any <br />dog of unknown ownership found running at large on which the <br />license tax hereunder has not been paid; provided, however, <br />that the animal warden may deliver such dog to any person in <br />the City who will pay the required license fee on such dog <br />with the understanding that if the legal owner thereafter <br />claims the dog and proves his ownership, he may recover such <br />dog by paying to the person to whom it was delivered by the <br />animal warden the ~ount of the license fee paid by him and <br />a reasonable charge for the keep of the dog while in his <br />possession. <br /> <br />Section 4-63. Quarant!ne. <br /> <br /> (a) Defined. Quarantine, as used in this section, shall <br />mean the keeping of any anzmal under such conditions of a <br />reasonable security and confinement as may be determined by <br />the director of public health to be necessary or desirable <br />in the interest of public health and safety. In the discretion <br />of the director of public health, such quarantine may be effected <br />on the premises of the owner or person having custody of the <br />animal to be quarantined or by delivery to an approved vetenarian, <br />kennel or pound, which shall be at the cost and expense of the <br />owner or person having custody of such animal. <br /> <br /> (b) By owner of animal, custodian. It shall be the duty <br />of the owner or person having custody of any animal for which <br />no oroof of curent rabies vaccination is available who has <br />been bitten by another animal known to have rabies to quarantine <br />such bitten animal in the manner set forth in this section for <br />a period of six (16) months unless sooner released by consent <br />of the director of public health. Any animal so bitten with <br />proof of valid rabies vaccination shall be revaccinated im- <br />mediately. It shall be the duty of the owner or person having <br />custody of any animal otherwise suspected of having rabies <br /> <br /> <br />
