AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF GREEN STREET. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Green Street; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted May 14, 1985, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said portion of Green Street; and WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that in theiropinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BEiIT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Green Street be closed and vacated as a public street. Green Street Ail that certain piece or parcel of land lying and be~n~ in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being more particularly described as that portion of Green Street bounded on the north by a line 89.5' south of and parallel to South Street -~ and bounded on the south by the northern side of Bart Street. (S-85-4) BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that %he City of Portsmouth hereby reserves untO itself perpetual easements, rights and privileges to install, maintain, operate and replace gas mains, sewer mains, sewer drains, sanitary sewers, stc~m drains, water mains and laterals, electric power lines and telephone lines within, over, under and across that portion of the hereinabove described street lying between parallel lines extending in a northerly direction from the north side of Bart Street said parallel lines being 15' on either side of the center line of the street right-of-way.
