1985-80 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF BOURBON STREET. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Bourbon Street; and WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council on October 9, 1984, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said street; and WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Bourbon Street be closed and vacated as a public street. Bourbon Street Ail that certain piece or parcel of land comprising that portion of Bourbon Street that is shown on a certain plat entitled "Plat Showing a Portion of Bourbon Street to be Closed for Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority", prepared by Engineerinq & Technical Services Department of the City-of Portsmouth, Virginia, dated Auqust 16, 1984, a copy of which is attached hereto, ~ore particularly described as being that portion of Bourbon Street lying between the western boundary of Terry Street and the eastern boundary of Dunkin Street. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege to install, maintain, operate and replace storm drainage facilities over, under and across the hereinabove described street.
