AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY ~4ENDING SECTION 39-1 PERTAINING TO THE <br />DEFINITION OF "DIRECTOR" AND "INOPERATIVE MOTOR VEHICLE". <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 39-1 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by redefining the <br />term "Director" and "Inoperative Motor Vehicle" to read <br />follows: <br /> <br />as <br /> <br />Section 39-1. Definitions. <br /> Director: the Director of Housing Services and <br />Community Development and his representatives when duly <br />authorized by him to administer and enforce the provisions <br />of this article. <br /> Inoperative motor vehicle: any motor vehicle, as <br />defined in Section 46.1-1 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, <br />which is not in operating condition; or which for a period <br />of ninety days or longer has been partially or totally <br />disassembled by the removal of tires and wheels, the <br />engine, or other essential parts required for operation of <br />the vehicle. <br /> 2. This ordinance shall.take effect on July 1, 1985. <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br /> Virginia, at a meeting held June 25, 1985. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
