shall be a proper means of abatement. In lieu of <br />removal of the lead-based paint, the surfaces shall be <br />covered with a durable, protective material adjudged <br />satisfactory by the Director. No such proposed material <br />shall be satisfactory unless the Director finds that it <br />will remain effective for the life of the dwelling unit. <br /> <br />Section 17-50. Prohibition of Eviction of Occupants <br /> with Children by Owner or Landlord. <br /> <br /> No owner or landlord found to be in violation <br />of Section 17-47 or '17-48 may evict, or cause to be <br />evicted, occupants with children for the purpose of <br />avoiding corrective maintenance ordered by the Director, <br />Court, or other appropriate authority to eliminate <br />hazardous lead exposures. Further, families with <br />children shall be permitted to continue their occupancy <br />in accordance with their lease or rental agreement <br />executed prior to discovery of the hazardous conditions <br />or commencement of corrective action. <br /> <br />Section 17-51. Reports. <br /> <br /> Every Public Health official, Physician or <br />Director of a laboratory, hospital, or other treatment <br />facility who diagnosis or suspects the existence of lead <br />poisoning in an~ person shall immediately notify, in <br />writing, the Director of such fact. Notification shall <br />include name and age of the individual, name of parents <br />(or employer if person is an adult), and present <br />address. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 17-46 of the Code of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, as amended, be <br />amended by removing therefrom the term "Director" and <br />its definition. <br /> <br /> 3.
