AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION.OF GREEN STREET. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate, close and discontinue hereinafter-described portion of Green Street; and WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council on February 14, 1984, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~t5.1- 364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the herein- after-described portion of said street, and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what convenience would result from discontinuing the said street; and WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that in their opmnion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described portion of Green Street be closed and vacated as a public street. GREEN STREET Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, as shown the plat attached hereto en- titled "Plat Showing Closure Of A Portion Of Green Street For Portsmouth kedevelopment And Housing Authority, Effingham Project, VAR-72, Portsmouth, Virginia" dated November 4, 1983, prepared by Hassell & Folkes, P. C., Surveyors and Engineers, Portsmouth, Virginia, comprising tha~ portion of Green Street which is bounded on the north by the southern right-of-way line of Argyle Street, and on the south by the north- ern right-of-way line of Portsmouth Boulevard. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege to install, maintain and operate sanitary sewer mains and lines over, under and across that portion of the hereinabove-described street.
