(10) Conversions in Port Norfolk Historic District and <br />Park View Historic District under Historic Residential HR <br />Zoning: <br /> <br /> It is the purpose and intent of this provision to <br />encourage a more efficient use of the area's existing stock <br />of large single-fanlily dwellins, to provide economic support <br />for resident families of limited income, and to protect and <br />preserve property values while preserving the unique architecture <br />of these structures. <br /> <br /> To promote the objectives of this section and of <br />the comprehensive plan and the zoning chapter of the City <br />Code, the following specific standards are set forth for <br />conversions. <br /> <br /> (a) Location on the lot: A conversion may be in <br />the principal dwelling structure, provided such structure existed <br />in Port Norfolk prior to April 26, 1983, and in Park View prior <br />to April 1, 1984, and conforms with the other requirements <br />of this section. <br /> <br /> (b) Exterior alterations: A conversion may be <br />constructed within the existing dwelling structure without <br />an exterior addition. All entrances to accessory units must <br />be located in the rear or along side of dwelling structues <br />and be designed in a compatible manner to minimize visual <br />impact of the structure, and to the degree reasonably feasible, <br />the appearance of the building shall be maintained as single- <br />fatally dwelling. <br /> <br /> (c) Floor area requirement: The minimum floor area <br />of each dwelling unit within a principal dwelling structure shall <br />be six hundred (600) square feet. <br /> <br /> (d) Number of conversion apartments per lot: The <br />nu~lber of permitted conversion dwelling units in Port Norfolk <br />shall be regulated as follows: <br /> <br />Nunfoer of Converted <br />Apartment Units <br /> <br />Lot Size in Square Feet <br /> <br />1 <br />2 <br /> <br />5,700 - 11,199 <br />11,200 and over <br /> <br /> The number.of permitted conversion dwelling units in Park <br />View shall be regulated as follows: <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />
