AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF HAMILTON AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, has made application to vacate, close anddiscontinue the hereinafter- described portion of Hamilton Avenue; and WHEREAS, by a resolution of this Council adopted July 24, 1984, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~t5.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter-described portion of said street, and to report i~ writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing said street; and WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said-street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virg.inia, that the hereinafter-descrTbed portion of Hamilton Avenue be closed and vacated as a public street. HAMILTON AVENUE All that certain portion of Hamilton Avenue beginning at the intersection of the no~th right- of-way of Glasgow Street and the west right-of-way of H~ilton Avenue; thence along the west right- of-way of Hamilton Avenue 113'; thence east 60' to the east right-of-say of:Hamilton Avenue; thence south along said right-of-way 113' to the north right-of-way of Glasgow ~treet; thence west along said right-of-way 60' to the west right-of-way of Hamilton Avenue, the Point of Beginning. (S-84-11). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Portsmouth re- ser~es unto itself perpetual easements, rights and privileges to install, operate, maintain and replace electric power lines, water mains and sewer mains over, under, and across the herein- above-described stre'et.
