Section 23-520. Width of vehicles and exceptions as to <br /> <br /> No vehicle, including any 'load thereon, hut excluding <br /> the required mirror, shall exceed a total outside ~idth as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> Ca} ~ Passenger·bus operated in the City - one hundred <br />.two (102) inches. <br /> <br /> (b) Other vehicles - Ninety-six (96} inches. <br /> <br /> Cci School buses one hundred (100) inches wide while <br />in motion and One hundred eighteen (118) inches wide while <br />stopped to pick up or discharge students. <br /> <br />Section 23-526. Vehicles having more than one trailer, <br /> etc., attached thereto~ <br /> <br /> Except as provided in Sections 46.1-335 and 46.1-335.1 <br />of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, no motor vehicTe <br />shall be drivenupon a highway drawing or having attached <br />thereto ~ore than one motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer, <br />but this limitat±on shall not apply between sunrise and s~nset <br />to such farm trailers or semitrailers being· moved from one <br />farm to another farm owned or operated by the same person; <br />provided that this limitation shall not appty~to a combination <br />of vehicles coupled t0gether by a saddle mount device used to <br />transport motor vehicles in a drive-away service from factory' <br />to dealer when not more than two (2) saddle mounts are used <br />or when three (.3) saddle mounts are used ~ot exceeding <br />sixty ~60) feet in length when such motor v~hicle is being <br />operated on the interstate system of highways or is enroute <br />from its point of departure to the interstate system Of <br />highways. <br /> <br />Section 23~527. Weight of vehicles and loads; size. <br /> <br /> The maximum gross weight and axle weight ofmotor' <br />vehfc!es and·size of motor vehicles to be permitted·on the <br />road surface of any street or highway in the City shall be in <br />accordance with the provisions of Sections 46.1-328, <br />46.1-330 and 46.1-339, Code of Virginia, 1950, as emended. <br /> <br /> The provisions of this section shall not apply to a <br />vehicle designed for towing disabled vehicles, when towiDg'such <br />~ehicle in an emergency in such manner that a part of-the <br />combined Weight of the two ~2) vehicles or size of the two (2) <br />vehicles rest upon an axle or axles of the towing vehicle~ <br />provided, that the towed and towing vehicle each are within <br />the weight limits prescribed in the above-referenced sections <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br /> <br />
