High intensity amber'tightsl as prescribed by the Super- <br />intendent, shall be required to be used by any vehicle which <br />is engaged in the towing of a manufactured housingunit <br />and shall also be required on the upper rear end of such unit <br />being towed. <br /> <br /> (a) A member of any fire department, volunteer fire <br />company or volunteer rescue squad may equip one vehicle owned <br />by the me~ber with not more than two (2) flashing or steady- <br />burning red or red and white lights of a type approved by the <br />Superintendent, for use by members only in answering emergency <br />calls. <br /> <br /> Any person violating any of the provisions of this section <br />shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> (b) Blue lights, steady or flashing, of a type approved <br />by the Superintendent shall be reserved for civil'defense <br />vehicles, publicly or privately owned. <br /> <br /> No motor vehicle shall be opera~ed on any highway which <br />is equipped witk any lighting device other than lamps required <br />or permitted in this Article or required or approved by the <br />Superintendent or required by the Federal Department of Trans- <br />portation. <br /> <br />Section 23-386. Use of warning devices on school buses. <br /> <br /> (a) Every bus used for the principal purpose of trans- <br />porting school children shall be equipped with a warning <br />device of such type as may be prescribed by the State Board <br />after consultation with the Superintendent of State Police. <br />Such a warning device shall indicate when such bus is stopped, <br />is about to stop, and when it is taking on or discharging <br />children, elderly, mentally or physically handicapped persons. <br />Such warning device shall be used and in operation for a dis- <br />tance of not less than 100 feet before any proposed stop of <br />such bus if the lawful speed limit is less than thirty-five <br />miles per hour, and for a distance of at Ieast 200 feet before <br />any proposed stop of such bus if the lawful speed limit is <br />thirty-five miles per hour or more. <br /> <br /> (b) Failure of warning device to function on any school <br />bus shall not relieve any person operating a motor vehicle <br />from his duty to stop as provided in ~23-66 (b) (7). <br /> <br /> (c) Any person operating.such bus who.fails or refuses <br />to equip such vehicle being driven by him with such equipment, <br />or fails to use such warning devices in the operation of <br />such vehicle shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />.15 <br /> <br /> <br />
