(c) In the event of such removal and storage, the <br />owner of the vehicle involved shall be chargeable with <br />and such vehicle may be held for a reasonable charge for <br />its removal and storage. <br /> <br /> (d) The p~ovisions of subsection (a) shall not <br />apply to police, fire or public health vehicles or when <br />a vehicle shall, because of a wreck or other emergen'cy, <br />be parked or left temporarily upon the property of <br />another. <br /> <br />Section'23-278-. Designation. <br /> <br /> The following described parcels of land 6wned or <br />leased by the city are hereby designated as off-street <br />parking lots: <br /> <br /> (a) Civic Center Parking -Lot. The parcel of land <br />in the square bounded by High Street extended, Water' <br />Street, Columbia Street and the Southern Branch of the <br />Elizabeth River shall be known and designated as the <br />"Civic Center Parking Lot." <br /> <br /> (b) Courthouse Museum Parking Lot. The parcel of <br />land located on the west side of the 400 block of Court <br />Street and adjacent to the 1846 Courthouse Museum shall <br />be known as the "Courthouse Museum Parking Lot." <br /> <br /> (c) King Street Parking Lot. The parcel of land <br />located between the 400 blocks of County Street and King <br />Street shall be known and designated as the "King Street <br />Parking Lot." <br /> <br /> (d) Proctor Square Parking Lot. The parcel of <br />land located on the north side of 700 block of County <br />Street shall be known and designated as the "Proctor <br />Square Parking Lot." <br /> <br />Section 23-285. Operation of meters; overtime parking <br /> generally. <br /> <br /> When any vehicle is parked in any metered space in <br />any off-street par~ing lot of the city designated in <br />§23-278, the driver shall, upon entering the parking <br />space, immediately deposit or cause to be deposited, a <br />coin or coins of the United States in the meter provided <br />.for the space, as required by the legend on the meter, <br />and such parking space shall then be lawfully occupied <br />by the vehicle.during the period as may be indicated by <br />the legend, which is herein prescribed as the period of <br />parking ti~e allowed for the use of the space. If~the <br />vehicle shall remain parked in such parking space beyond <br />the parking time limit during which the same is lawfully <br />occupied, the parking meter shall display a sign or <br /> <br /> <br />
