Vehicles having more than one traile~, <br /> etc., attached thereto. <br /> <br /> Except as p~ovided in ~§46.1-335 and 46.1-335.1 of <br />the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, no motor vehicle <br />shall be driven upon a highway drawing o~ having <br />attached thereto more than one motor vehicle, trailer, <br />or semitrailer, but this limitation shall not apply <br />between sunrise and sunset to such farm trailers or <br />semitrailers being moved f~om one farm to another farm <br />owned or operated by the same person; provided that this <br />limitation shall not apply to a combination of vehicles <br />coupled together by a saddle mount device used to <br />transport motor vehicles in a drive-~way from factory to <br />dealer when not more than two[2) saddle mounts are used <br />or when three[3) saddle mounts are used not exceeding <br />sixty(60) feet in length when such motor vehicle is <br />being operated on the interstate system of highways or <br />is enroute from its point of departure to the interstate <br />system of highways. <br /> <br /> 2. That §23.389 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by adding thereto <br />subsection (e) to ~ead as follows: <br /> <br />Section 23-389. Signs on windshields, etc. <br /> <br /> (e) The provisions of this section shall govern <br />all cases except as otherwise provided in ~46.1-291.01 <br />of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> 3. That Chapter 23 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by adopting <br />§§23-520.1 and 23-523.1 to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 23-520.1 widths of commercial vehicles. <br /> <br /> No commercial vehicle shall exceed 102 inches in <br />width when operating on any federal interstate and <br />defense highway, or on any qualifying federal-aid <br />primary highway designed by the State Highway and <br />Transportation Board. The width limitation in this <br />section shall not include rear view mirrors, turn signal <br />lamps, handholds for cab entry and egress, splash <br />suppressant devices and load-induced tire bul§e. Safety <br />devices, with the exception of rear view mirrors, shall <br />not extend mo~e than three ~nches on each side of a <br /> <br /> <br />
