The provision of this section limiting interior <br />lights to no mo~e than fifteen candlepower shall not <br />apply to alternating, blinking, or flashing colored <br />emergency lights mounted inside law-enforcement motor <br />vehicles which may otherwise legally be equipped with <br />such colored emergency lights. <br /> <br /> Any person violating any of the provisions of this <br />section shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> Unless such lighting device is both covered and not <br />illuminated, no motor vehicle which is equipped with any <br />lighting device othe~ than lamps required o~ permitted <br />in this article or required or approved by the <br />Superintendent or required by the federal department of <br />transportation shall be operated on any highway in the <br />city. Nothing in this paragraph shall be construed to <br />permit any vehicle not otherwise authorized, to be <br />equipped with coloFed emergency lights, whether blinking <br />o~ steady-burning. <br /> <br />Section 23-375. Tampering with odometers. <br /> <br /> (e) Any person convicted of a violation of the <br />p~ovisions of this section shall De fined not more than <br />ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or confined in jail no5 <br />more than twelve (12) months, o~ both, for a first <br />offense. <br /> <br />Section 23-408. License plates. <br /> <br /> (b) License plates assigned to a moto~ vehicle, <br />other than a motorcycle, ~oad tractor, tractor truck, <br />t~ailer or semitrailer, or to persons licensed as moto~ <br />vehicle dealers or transporters of unladen vehicles, <br />shall be attached to such moto~ vehicle, one in front <br />and the other in the ~ear. The license plate assigned <br />to a motorcycle, trailer or semitrailer shall be <br />attached to the ~ear thereof. The license plate <br />assigned to a road t~actor or t~acto~ truck shall be <br />attached to the front thereof. The license plates <br />issued to licensed motor vehicle dealers and to persons <br />licensed as transporters of unladen vehicles shall <br />consist of one plate for each set issued and shall be <br />attached to the rear of the vehicle to which it is <br />assigned. Antique motor vehicles may display single <br />license plates if the design of such antique motor <br />vehicles allows for the use of only single license <br />plates. <br /> <br /> (c) Every license plate shall at all times be <br />securely fastened to the motor vehicle, trailer or <br />semitraile~ to which it is assigned so as to p~event the <br />plate f~om swinging in a position to be clea~ly visible, <br /> <br /> <br />
