A~ ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 39-1 THEREOF, <br />PERTAINING TO INOPERATIVE MOTOR VEHICLES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 39-1 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained <br />pertaining to the definition of inoperative motor vehicles as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 39-1. Definitions. <br /> <br /> Inoperative motor vehicle: any motor vehicle as defined <br />in Section 46.1-1, Code of Virginia, 1950, which is not in <br />operating condition; or which for a period of sixty days or <br />longer has been partially or totally disassemDled by the <br />~emoval of tires and wheels, the engine, or other essential <br />pa~ts ~equired for operation of the vehicle or on which there <br />are displayed neither valid license plates nor a valid <br />inspection decal. <br /> <br />2. This ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 1986. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on June 24, 1986. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
