AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF WESTMORELAND AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Frank A. Lawson has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described <br />portion of Westmoreland Avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted June <br />23, 1987, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section <br />15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter described portion of said street and to report <br />in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what, <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing the said <br />street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing <br />that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from <br />closing and discontinuing said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter <br />described portion of Westmoreland Avenue be closed and <br />vacated as a public street. <br /> <br />WESTMORELAND AVENUE <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, <br />situate, lying and being in the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, being more particularly <br />described as that remaining portion of <br />Westmoreland Street bounded on the west by <br />Lot 2, Block 62 and ~o~nded on the east by <br />Lot 24, Block 61 as shown on the plat of <br />Virginia Realty and Investment Company and <br />being 108.5' x 60' in size. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth <br />hereby reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, privilege <br />and Fight-of-way to install, operate, maintain and replace <br />water mains and lines ove~, under and across the western 30 <br />feet of the hereinabove described street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held August 25, 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
