AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF CHEMICAL WAY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Virginia Chemicals Inc. has made application <br />to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described <br />portion of Chemical Way; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolu%ion adopted by this Council on June <br />9, 1987, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section <br />15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter described portion of said street and to report <br />in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing said street; <br />and <br /> <br /> WI4EREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that <br />their opinion no inconvenience would result from the <br />closing and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br />~n <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter <br />described portion of Chemical Way be closed and vacated as <br />a public street. <br /> <br />CHEMICAL WAY <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, <br />lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, being more particularly described as <br />that portion of Chemical Way bounded on the <br />north and south by the property of Virginia <br />Chemicals Inc.; bounded .dn the east by <br />Progress Avenue; bounded on the west by West <br />Norfolk Road. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth <br />hereby reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, Fight and <br />privilege to install, operate, maintain and ~eplace water <br />mains and lines and sanitary sewer lines over, under and <br />across the hereinabove described street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held August 25, 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
