1957-81 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF REID STREET. WHEREAS, Alton F. close and discontinue Reid Street; and Catlett has made application to vacate, the hereinafter described pornion of WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Cquncil on June 23, 1987, viewers were appointed pursuant to'Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whethe~ in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing the said street; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in in their opinion no inconvenience would result and discontinuing of said street. writing that from closing NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Reid Street be closed and vacated as s public street. Reid Street Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being more particularly described as the southerly portion of Reid Street being the remaining portion of Reid Street not being incorporated into the subdivision "Afton villas" measuring 40 ~feet in width, 74.27 on the westerly side and 98.35 feet on the easterly side, and being a part of Block 116 - "A"-Map of Cradock. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby ~ese~ves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege to install, operate, maintain and replace storm drains and lines over, under and across the hereinabove described portion of said street, being 10' on either side of the cenner line thereof.
