AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 23-278, 23-280, 23-281, 23-283, 23-285, 23-288, 23-2924 23-293, 23-294, AND 23-295, BY REPEALING SECTION 23-279, AND BY ENACTING SECTIONS 23-296, 23-297 AND 23-298 OF CHAPTER 23 THEREOF, AND DIVIDING SUCH SECTIONS INTO DIVISION 5 PERTAINING TO METERED OFF-STREET PARKING AND DIVISION 6 PERTAINING TO UNMETERED OFF-STREET PARKING. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Sections 23-278, 23-280, 23-281, 23-283, 23-285, 23-288, 23-292, 23-293, 23-294, and 23-295 of the City of Portsmouth, 1973, be amended to read as [ollows: DIVISION 5. Metered Off-Street Parking Lots. Section 23-278. Designation. The following described parcels of land owned or leased by the city are hereby designated as metered off-street parking lots: (a) Civic Center Parking Lot. The parcel of land in the square bounded by King Street extended, Water Street, Columbia Street and the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River shall be known and designated as the "Civic Center Parking Lot." (b) Courthouse Museum Parking ~Lot. The parcel of land located on the west side of the 400 block of Court Street and adjacent to the 1846 Courthouse Museum shall be known and designated as the "Courthouse Museum Parking LOT." (c) King Square Parking Lot. The parcel of land located between the 400 blocks of County Street and King Street shall be known and designated as the "King Square Parking Lot." (d) Proctor Square Parking Lot. The parcel of land located between the 700 blocks of County and King Streets shall be known and designated as the "Proctor Square Parking Lot." Section 23-280.
