AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 38-34 (b) THEREOF, <br />PERTAINING TO WATER RATES FOR THE CITY OF CHESAPEAKE AND <br />RESIDENTS THEREOF. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 38-34 (b) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-34. Meter rates for water supply. <br /> <br /> (b) For all water which passes through the meters of the <br />City of Chesapeake pursuant to contract, the City of <br />Chesapeake shall pay one dollar and ninety-five cents ($1.95) <br />per one thousand (1000) gallons, or, one dollar and <br />one dollar and forty-five and eighty eighty hundredths cents <br />($1.4588) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br />For all water which passes through the meters, the customers <br />of the City of Chesapeake are served by Portsmouth and whose <br />rates are not set by contract shall pay two dollars and <br />sixty-five cents ($2.65) per one thousand (1000) gallons, or, <br />one dollar ninety-eight and twenty-five hundredths cents <br />($1.9825) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> 2.
