112 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE NATIONAL PAINT AND COATINGS <br />ASSOCIATION FOR THEIR "PICTURE IT PAINTED" PROGRAM IN <br />RECOGNIZING THE ASSOCIATION FOR SUPPORTING PORTSMOUTH'S <br />BEAUTIFICATION EFFORTS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />recognizes the importance of preserving our housing <br />through painting and other protective coatings; and <br /> <br />Virginia, <br />stock <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the National Paint and Coatings Association has <br />developed and implemented a public relations effort entitled <br />"Picture It Painted" that provides free paint and supplies to <br />support Volunteer Homes Preservation Projects; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Beautification and Clean <br />Community Commission organized "Picture It Painted in <br />Portsmouth" that utilized one hundred (100) gallons of paint, <br />donated by the Virginia Chapter of the National Paint and <br />Coatings Association, in providing four (4) needy homeowners <br />with free house painting. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, commends the National Paint and <br />Coatings Association for their "Picture It Painted" Program <br />and thanks them for their support of Portsmouth's <br />beautification efforts. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held November 24, 1987. <br /> <br /> <br />
