95 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR THE CLOSING OF A PORTION <br />OF MARYLAND AVENUE AND CHAUTAUQUA ~VENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission <br />has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter described'portions of Maryland Avenue and <br />Chautauqua Avenue, and it appearing that Notice of Application <br />and Request for the Appointment of Viewers has been duly <br />advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavlo, Emmerson <br />Smith, Clinton J. Fortune, Matthew L. Peanort and L.A. Clark <br />be appointed viewers and that Moses Gibson and James L. <br />Linehan be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the <br />preceding viewers fails to participate, said v~ewers to view <br />the hereinafter described portions of such streets and to <br />report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion <br />any, and if any what, inconvenience would result in vacating <br />and closing the following: <br /> <br /> Maryland Avenue <br /> <br /> That portion of Maryland Avenue beginning <br />at the northern line of Lots 1885 and 1964 as <br />shown on the plat of Port Norfolk Land <br />Company, recorded in the Clerk's office of the <br />Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, <br />Virginia, in Map Book 4, pages 70 and 71, <br />which said point is approximately 259 feet <br />north of the n~rthern ~side of Commerce Street <br />and continuing in a northerly direction to the <br />north side of Hartford Street. <br /> <br />~hautauqua Avenue <br /> <br /> The western 10 feet of Chautauqua Avenue <br />beginning at the northern line of Commerce <br />Street and extending in a northern direction <br />1,166.80 feet to the southern line of the <br />property now or formerly belonging to Seaboard <br />Coastline Railroad. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held September 22~ 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
