AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 38-33, 38-34, 38-66, AND 38-77 (a) (c) (g), PERTAINING TO METER CHARGES AND METER RATES FOR WATER SUPPLY, CHARGES FOR USE OF PUBLIC FIRE HYDRANTS, AND CHARGES FOR THE DISPOSAL OF SEWAGE; AND BY REPEALING SECTIONS 38-77 (b) (f), PERTAINING TO TREATMENT OF SEWAGE. BE ~T ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Sections 38-33, 38-34, 38-66, and 38-77 (a) (c) (g) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: Section 38-33. Meter charges. The meter charges set out in the following tables shall be paid by water consumers for the several sizes of meters. This charge shall be paid for each of the premises whose occupants take water from the service pipe: Meter Size Payment per Month 5/8" 3/4" 6" 10" $ 2.50 3.75 7.50 15.00 25.00 40.00 75.00 162.50 250.00~ 375.00 Section 38-34. Meter rates for water supply. (a) For all water which passes through the meters the consumers within the corporate limits of the City of Portsmouth shall pay a rate of one dollar forty cents ($1.40) per one thousand (1,000) gallons, or, one dollar four and seventy-three hundredths cents ($1.0473) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. (b) For all water which passes through the meters of the City oi Chesapeake pursuant to contract, the City of Chesapeake shall pay two dollars and ten cents ($2.10) per one thousand (1000) gallons, or, one dollar fifty-seven and ten hundredths ($1.5710) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied.
