1988-35 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE PERMITTING DEPUTY SHERIFFS EMPLOYED BY THE <br />SHERIFF OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA TO ENGAGE IN <br />OFF-DUTY EMPLOYMENT REQUIRING THE USE OF THEIR POLICE POWERS <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF TO ESTABLISH SUCH RULES AND <br />REGULATIOMS NECESSARY TO GOVERN SUCH OFF-DUTY EMPLOYMENT, <br />ACTIVITIES, AND SERVICES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that in accordance with ~15.1-133.1 of the Code of <br />Virginia, 1950, as amended, deputy sheriffs employed by the <br />Sheriff of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, are permitted to <br />engage in off-duty employment requiring the use of their <br />police powers in the performance of such off-duty activities <br />and services. The Sheriff of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia'" <br />is authorized to establish such reasonable rules and <br />regulations as may be deemed necessary to govern such off-duty <br />employment, activities and services. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held ADril 26, 1988. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
