AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF PORTLAND STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, t~e City of Portsmouth nas made application to <br />vacate, close aQd discontinue the hereinafter described <br />portion of Portland Street, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, bQ resolution of this Council adopted February <br />9, 1988, viewer~ were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1~364, <br />Code of Virginig, 1950,-as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in thei~ opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result frcm discontinuing said portion of Portland <br />Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, t~e said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinior no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuirg of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREIORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, \irginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portion of Port]and Street be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br /> Portland Street <br /> <br /> That ertain portion of Portland Street <br /> (formerly th Street) t~iangular in shape on <br /> the west s de of Chautauqua Avenue as shown on <br /> the plat of property of the West Portsmouth <br /> Land Co. dlly recorded in the Clerk's Office <br /> of the Cir(uit Court of the City of <br /> Chesapeake in Map Book 4 at pag:e 67. ~ <br /> <br /> BE IT FURT}ER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby <br />reserves unto i~self a perpetual easement, right and privilege <br />to install, ope]ate, maintain and replace sewer mains, sewer <br />drains, sanitar~ sewers and electric power lines over, under <br />and across the ereinafter described portion of Portland <br />Street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a ~eeting held April 26, 1988. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
