Payment of such costs shall not relieve the owner <br />liability for any violation of this Code. <br /> <br />of <br /> <br /> Upon redemption of a dog or cat by its owner, the <br />Portsmouth Humane Society shall notify the owner of such dog <br />or cat that am Animal Control Officer of the City may appear <br />an his place of residence on or after seven (7) days following <br />redemption of the animal. At such time, the owner of the <br />~edeemed animal shall present to the Animal Control Officer <br />proof of the animal's vaccination or inoculation against <br />rabies. <br /> <br /> At the expiration of the five (5) day period of <br />impoundment, any dog or cat not so claimed by its owner, shall <br />become the property of the Portsmouth Humane Society, Inc. who <br />shall offer such animal by adoption to any person who shall <br />meet the adoption requirements of the Portsmouth Humane <br />Society. Any animal not so adopted may be humanely disposed <br />of by the Portsmouth Humane Society in accordance with law. <br /> <br />2.
