(4) months old or older shall pay the license tax prescribed <br />by this division. <br /> <br /> (b) If a doc shall become four (4 months of age or come <br />into the possession of any person between January first and <br />November first of any year, the license tax for the current <br />calendar year shall be paid forthwith by the owner. <br /> <br /> (c) If a dog shall become four (4) months of age or come <br />into the possession of any person between October <br />thirty-first and December thirty-first of any year, the <br />license tax for the succeeding calendar year shall be paid <br />forthwith by the owner, and such license shall protect such <br />dog from the date of purchase. <br /> <br />Section 4-66. Vaccination of docs and cats. <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep, <br />harbor, or have in his care, custody or control, anv dog or <br />cat four (4) months old or older unless such dog or cat has <br />been vaccinated or inoculated against rabies in the manner set <br />forth in subsection (b) of this section within a period of <br />twelve (12) months if such dog or cat shall have been <br />uaccinated or inoculated by the one-year vaccine or within a <br />period of thirty-six (36) months if such dog or cat shall have <br />been vaccinated or inoculated by the three-year vaccine. <br /> <br />Section 4-67. <br /> <br />Owning, keeping or transporting unvaccinated <br />dog or cat. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep or <br />harbor or have in his care, custody or control any dog or cat <br />over four (4) months old within the city unless such dog or <br />cat shall have been vaccinated or inoculated in accordance <br />with the provisions of this article. Any person transporting <br />a dog or cat into the city from another jurisdiction shall <br />comply with this section within thirty (30) days from the day <br />he brings such dog or cat into the city, if such dog or cat is <br />to be kept in the city more than thirty (30) days. <br /> <br />Section 4-68. <br /> <br />Impoundment of unvaccinated dogs or cats; <br />redemption, disposal. <br /> <br /> Any dog or cat over four (4) months found within the <br />limits of the city without evidence that such dog or cat has <br />been vaccinated or inoculated in accordance with the <br />provisions of this chapter shall be impounded by the animal <br />warden, any police officer, or other authorized person for a <br />period of at least five (5) days during which time such dog or <br />cat may be returned to its owner upon proof of ownership and <br />upon payment by such owner of the cost of keeping such dog or <br />cat at the rate of three dollars ($3.00) for the first day, <br />and one dollar ($1.00) for each additional day or any part <br />thereof, together with the payment of any fines lawfully <br /> <br /> <br />
