AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 21-143 (C) AND (D) OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, AS AMENDED, <br />PERTAINING TO GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALES. <br /> <br /> BE ~T ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 21-143 (c) and (d) be amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 21-143. <br /> <br />"Going out of business" sales; permits <br />required. <br /> <br /> (c) Ail applications for special sale permits shall be <br />accompanied by an inventory, including the kind and quantity <br />of all goods which are to be offered for sale during the sale, <br />and only the goods specified in the inventory list may be <br />advertised at a price reduced or sold at a reduced price <br />during the sale period. Goods not included on the inventory <br />of special sale goods shall not be co-mingled with or added to <br />the special sale goods. This special sale permit may be <br />revoked upon proof that goods not appearing on the original <br />inventory of special sale goods have been co-mingled with or <br />added to the special sale goods. <br /> <br /> (d) Each special sale permit shall be valid for a period <br />of no longer than sixty days, and any extension of that time <br />s.hall constitute a new special sale and shall require an <br />additional permit and inventory and inspection of <br />advertisement as provided herein. An additional permit beyond <br />the initial sixty day permit ~y be granted solely for the <br />purpose of liquidating only those goods contained in the <br />initial inventory list and whic'h remain unsold. <br /> <br /> 2.
