48 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR <br />THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH DESIGNATED CP-89-1. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article IV of Chapter 11 of Title 15.1 of the <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, requires that every <br />governing body shall adopt a Comprehensive Plan for the <br />physical development of the territory within its jurisdiction; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made a careful and <br />comprehensive survey and study of the existing conditions and <br />trends of growth, and of the probable future requirements of <br />the City and its inhabitants; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, prior to the <br />recommendation, ~ave notice and held public hearings on the <br />plan as required by law an~ prepared and recommended a <br />Comprehensive Plan for the physical, social and economic <br />development of the City and designated same as CP-89-1; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth has held <br />public hearings, with notice as required by law, and <br />considered the proposed Comprehensive Plan and proposed <br />certain revisions thereto. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia that the Comprehensive Plan for the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, designatedi <br />CP-89-1 as revised be, and ~hereby is, approved and adopted. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held July 11, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
