49 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE GRATITUDE OF PORTSMOUTH TO MR. <br />MARVIN FENSTER AND MRS. LOUISE RAPOPORT FENSTER FOR THEIR <br />DONATION THAT FUNDED THE RAPOPORT ROOM AT THE PORTSMOUTH <br />PUBLIC LIBRARY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Marvin Fenster and Mrs. Louise Rapoport <br />Fenster have generously donated funds, in loving memory of <br />Morris and Julia Rapoport, now deceased, to the City of <br />Portsmouth for the benefit of the City and its citizens; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these funds have been used to create a center <br />~or instruction for the children of Portsmouth in the use of <br />computers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the donation of these funds reflects the spirit <br />of community pride and involvement and a vision of the future, <br />instilled in Mrs. Fenster by her father and mother, Morris and <br />Julia Rapoport. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia that this center for computer <br />instruction for the children of the City of Portsmouth at the <br />Portsmouth Public Library, be now, and forever known as the <br />Rapoport Room and that a copy of this resolution be spread <br />upon the minutes of this Council, and that a copy be presented <br />to Mr. Marvin Fenster and Mrs. Louise Rapoport Fenster in <br />recognition of the gratitude of the City of Portsmouth and its <br />citizens. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia at a meeting held July 11, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
