disregard a summons, and may issue either a summons or warrant <br />as he shall determine proper. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-11. Exemptions for operators of emergency vehicles. <br /> <br /> (b)(2) <br />Virginia. <br /> <br />A certificate of self-insurance issued pursuant <br />to Section 46.2-368 of the Code of <br /> <br />Sec. 22-13. Direction of traffic by deputized persons. <br /> <br /> The chief of police may deputize persons over the age of <br />eighteen (18) years without the power of arrest for the <br />limited purposes of directing traffic in accordance with <br />Section 46.'2-1309 of the Code of Virginia during periods of <br />heavy traffic or congestion; provided, that such persons first <br />receive training as the chief of police determines necessary <br />to fully acquaint such persons with the techniques of traffic <br />control. Any person who is deputized as hereinabove provided <br />shall at all times while engaged in traffic control wear a <br />distinctive police uniform, safety vest or a white <br />reflectorized belt which crosses both the chest and back above <br />the waist. <br /> <br />Section 22-16. Records of persons renting motor vehicles <br /> without drivers. <br /> <br /> (d) No person engaged in the business of renting <br />automobiles and trucks without drivers shall rent any such <br />vehicle without a driver unless such vehicle is an insured <br />motor vehicle as defined in Section 46.2-705 of the Code of <br />Virginia. A violation of this subsection shall constitute a <br />Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Section 22-77. Tax on vehicles not displaying current <br /> license plates. <br /> <br /> The annual license tax for motor vehicles not displaying <br />current license plates shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00). <br />This tax shall not apply to those individuals exempted from <br />the requirements of displaying such license plates under the <br />provisions of Sections 46.2-650 through 46.2-653, 46.2-663 <br />through 46.2-683, 46.2-685, 46.2-723 and 46.2-750 of the Code <br />of Virginia or to those motor vehicles in a public dump, in an <br />automobile graveyard, as defined in Section 33.1-348 of the <br />Code of Virginia or in the possession of a licensed junk <br />dealer or licensed motor vehicle dealer. This tax shall, in <br />addition, not apply to any vehicle which is stored on private <br />property for a period not in excess of sixty (60) days for the <br />purpose of removing parts for the repair of another vehicle. <br />This tax shall also not apply to any vehicle being held or <br />stored by or at the direction of any governmental authority, <br />to any vehicle owned by a member of the armed forces on active <br />duty or to any vehicle regularly stored within a structure. <br /> <br /> <br />
