Maximum length-generally. <br /> <br /> Except as otherwise provided in Sections 46.1-330 and <br />46.1-330.1 of the Code of Virginia, no motor vehicle exceeding <br />a length of forty feet shall be operated upon any highway in <br />the city. <br /> <br />Section 22-300. <br /> <br />Passing vehicle proceeding in same direction- <br />Duty of overtaken vehicle. <br /> <br /> (a) Except when overtaking and passing on the right is <br />permitted, the driver of an overtaken vehicle shall give way <br />to the right in favor of the overtaking vehicle on audible <br />signal and shall not increase the speed of his vehicle until <br />completely passed by the overtaking vehicle. Provided, <br />however, that any over-width, or slow-moving vehicle as <br />defined by Section 46.1-264.1 of the Code of Virginia shall be <br />removed from the traveled way at the nearest suitable location <br />when necessary to allow traffic to pass. <br /> <br /> (b) It shall be unlawful to fail to give way to <br />overtaking traffic when driving a motor vehicle to the left <br />and abreast of another motor vehicle on a divided highway. On <br />audible or light slanal, the driver of the overtaken vehicle <br />shall move to the right to allow the overtaking vehicle to <br />pass as soon as the overtaken vehicle can safely do so. <br /> <br />Section 22-327. Drinking while driving. <br /> <br /> (a) It shall constitute a Class 4 misdemeanor for any <br />person to consume an alcoholic beverage while driving or <br />operating a motor vehicle upon any street of the City. <br /> <br /> (b) It shall constitute a traffic infraction for any <br />person to consume any non-alcoholic liquid from any glass, <br />cup, bottle or other container while driving or operating a <br />motor vehicle upon any street of the City. <br /> <br />Section 22-348. Driv.ing while license suspended or revoked. <br /> <br /> (b) Any person violating this section may, for the first <br />offense, be confined in 3ail not less than ten (10) days nor <br />more than six (6) months and may in addition be fined not less <br />than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than two hundred <br />dollars ($200.00); and for the second or any subsequent <br />offense may be confined in jail not less than two (2) months <br />nor more than one (1) year and may in addition be fined not <br />less than two hundred dollars ($200.00) aor more than one <br />thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
