Section 2-773. <br /> <br />Composition; appointment and terms of <br />members. <br /> <br /> The committee shall consist of eleven (11) members. The <br />members of the committee shall be appointed by the council for <br />terms of three (3) years; provided, however, that of those <br />first appointed, four (4) shall be appointed for one (1) year, <br />four (4) for two (2) years, and three (3) for three (3) years. <br />The members shall hold office ~uring their respective terms <br />until their successors are appointed. <br /> <br /> 5. That Section 8-28 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, as amended, be amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 8-28. <br /> <br />Composition; appointment of members. <br /> <br /> The commission shall consist of five (5) members <br />appointed by the city council. In addition, the city manager, <br />the city attorney and the superintendent of schools or their <br />authorized representatives shall be nonvoting ex-officio <br />members of the coaunission. <br /> <br /> 6. That Section <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />follows: <br /> <br /> 12-143 of the Code of the City of <br />1988, as amended, be amended to read <br /> <br />as <br /> <br />Section 12-143. Composition; appointment of members. <br /> <br /> The commission shall consist of eleven (11) members. The <br />city manager and director of finance of the city shall be <br />nonvoting ex-officio members of the commission, and the <br />remaining nine (9) members shall be appointed by the city <br />council. Of the nine (9) or so aDpointed, at least three (3) <br />shall be members of the banking profession, and three (3) <br />shall be businessmen employed in the city and the remaining <br />members shall be either residents, property or business owners <br />within the city or shall be employed in the city. <br /> <br /> 7. That Section 17-42 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, as amended, be amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 17-42. Composition; appointment and terms of <br /> members; filling of vacancies. <br /> <br /> <br />
