20 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN <br />EASEMENT TO CHESAPEAKE AND POTOMAC TELEPHONE COMPANY OF <br />VIRGINIA FOR CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND <br />MAINTENANCE OF FIBER OPTIC LINES AND A SWITCHING STATION AT <br />PRENTIS PARK FIRE STATION NUMBER SIX. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company is <br />currently upgrading its facilities in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Company is installing fiber optic cable <br />through out the City which necessitates switching equipment; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Prentis Park Fire Station Number Six is located <br />in the area now being upgraded, and offers the best location <br />for the necessary switching equipment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the Ci.ty of PortsmoUth deems it <br />to be in the best interest of the City to g~ant an easement to <br />Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia for this <br />purpose. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, amd <br />hereby is, authorized to execute an easement_agreement-with <br />the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia~for <br />the installation and construction of fiber optic cable-and a <br />sw~tchin~ station on property of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, more particularly described by that certain plat <br />entitled "Plat Showing Utility Easement Acquired From The City <br />Of Portsmouth And The School Board Of The City Of Portsmouth", <br />dated January 22, 1991, prepared by Patton, Harris, Rust & <br />Associates, P.C., Virginia Beach, Virginia, attached hereto <br />and made a part hereof,-subject to such conditions-as the City <br />Manager dee~s to be in the best interest of the C~ty. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the CoUncil of the City of PortsmoUth, <br />Virginia,~ at-a meeting held March 1~2, 1991. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
