76 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY %O CONVEY TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY CON%AINED WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF TAX MAP 151, PARCELS 3 AND 4. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain property, known as the former Truxton Secondary Education Center, and other adjacent properties which are no longer needed by the City and are therefore declared to be surplus property; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority desires to obtain title to said property for the purpose of residential development of the site by a private developer; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems it to be in the best interest of the City for said property to be developed and put to its highest and best use. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to convey a portion or all of the hereinafter-described property to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, to-wit: All situate, Virginia, follows: that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, being more particularly described as Those portions of Tax Map 151, Parcels 3 and 4, as shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof; Those portions of Wilcox Avenue, Lee Street, Pennock Street, McCracken Street, and Ivey Place contained within or adjacent to Tax Map 151, Parcels 3 and 4, and closed and vacated as public streets by ordinance of the City Council, adopted on June 11, 1991, and amended by ordinance of the City Council, adopted December 10, 1991; e That portion of Marshall Avenue contained within or adjacent to Tax Map 151, Parcel 4, and closed and vacated as a public street by ordinance of the City Council, adopted July 22, 1986; and That portion of Fitzgerald Street closed and vacated as a public street by ordinance of the City Council adopted on February 24, 1970.
