AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF LAIGH ROAD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority has made application to vacate, close and <br />discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Laigh Road; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted February <br />11, 1992, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said portion of Laigh Road~ <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portion of Laigh Road be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br />Laigh Road <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, parcel or piece of land <br />lying, being and situated in the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia and more particularly described <br />as that parcel of land as shown on a certain plat <br />entitled, "Plat Showing Survey of Portion of Laigh <br />Road to be Closed, Pcrtsmouth, Virginia" dated <br />February 20, 1990 and prepared by AML Surveying <br />Mortgage & Land Surveys, Portsmouth, Virginia, and <br />further described as that parcel of land beginning <br />at the intersection of the Northeastern boundary of <br />Laigh Road and the Northwestern boundary of the <br />Seaboard Coastline Railroad right-of-way, thence <br />South 57000' West fifty (50) feet along said <br />Northwestern boundary of the Seaboard Coastline <br />Railroad right-of-way to its intersection with the <br />Southwestern boundary of Laigh Road, thence North <br />33009'40'' West seventy (70) feet along said <br />Southwestern boundary of Laigh Road to a point, <br />thence continuing along a curve to the left in said <br />boundary of Laigh Road with a radius of twenty (20) <br />feet for a distance of 31.42 feet to its <br />intersection with the Southeastern boundary of Laigh <br />Circle, thence along a curve to the right with a <br />radius of seventy (70) feet for a distance of 109.96 <br />feet to the Northeastern boundary of Laigh Road, <br />thence South 33o09'40" East for a distance of 160.14 <br />feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> <br />
