1992-75 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING PORTIONS OF CLIFFORD STREET, GREEN STREET, AND A SERVICE ROAD. WHEREAS, the YMCA of South Hampton Roads has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portions of Clifford Street, Green Street, and a service road. WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted July 14, 1992, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portions of said streets and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from disccntinuing said pcrtions of Clifford Street, Green Street, and a service road. WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said streets. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portions of Clifford Street, Green Street, and a service road be closed and vacated as public streets. CLIFFORD STREET, GREEN STREET AND A SERVICE ROAD Clifford Street, east of Effingham Street, to Green Street, south of Bart Street, and a service road connecting the two streets, otherwise known as that piece of real property described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of the intersection of Bart and Green Streets; thence S 3° 5' 12" E 44.14 feet along the west right-of-way of Green Street to a point; thence continuing along a service road the following distances to the north right-of-way of Clifford Street: S 24~ 4' 48" W 64.58 feet, S 50° 56' 30" W 183.74 feet, and S 2~ 47' 30" W 5.00 feet; thence S 86° 55' 19" W 17g.40 feet along the north ri~ht-of-way of Clifford Street to the east right-of-way of Effingham Street; thence S 3° 45' 12" E 60.00 feet to the south right-of-way of Clifford Street; thence N 86° 52' 13" E 171.54 feet + along said right-of-way to a point; thence ccnti~uing along a service road the following distances to the east right-of-way of G~een Street: N 50° 56' 30" E 269.24 feet + and N 24° 4' 48" E 61.31 feet +; thence N 3° 5'--12" E 58.79 feet ~ along the e~st right-of-way of Green Street to the south right-of-way of Bart Street; thence S 86: 45' 48" W 60.00 feet to Green Street, the point of origin.
