AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1988, BY ~4ENDING SECTION 25-227 THEREOF, PERTAINING <br />TO RENTAL RATES FOR WILLETT HALL. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 25-227 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended and reordained to <br />as follows: <br /> <br />read <br /> <br />Section 25-227. Rental rates prescribed. <br /> <br /> For rental of Willett Hall, the lessee shall pay one of <br />the rates set out in this section: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Ticketed events. The rental rate for ticketed <br />events (events subject to the city admissions tax) <br />shall be four hundred seventy-five dollars ($475.00) <br />or four (4) percent of the gross receipts, exclusive <br />of taxes, whichever amount is larger. Rehearsal <br />rental periods of up to four hours shall be at the <br />rate of two hundred twenty-five dollars ($225.00) <br />per rental period; should additional rental time be <br />used for rehearsal, setting up or removing <br />equipment, or other preparation for the event, and <br />the public is not admitted, the fee shall be sixty <br />dollars ($60.00) per hour and no fractions thereof <br />shall be permitted. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />Nonticketed events. The rental rate for nonticketed <br />events (events not subject to the city admissions <br />tax) shall be four hundred seventy-five dollars <br />(S475.00). Rehearsal rental periods of up to four <br />hours shall be at the rate of two hundred <br />twenty-five dollars (s225.00) per rental period; <br />should additional rental time be used for rehearsal, <br />setting up or removing equipment, or other <br />preparation for the event, and the public is not <br />admitted, the fee shall be sixty dollars ($60.00) <br />per hour and no fractions thereof shall be <br />permitted. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />Special rates. The rental rate for not-for-profit <br />organizations' events qualifying under this section <br />shall be four hundred seventy-five dollars <br />($475.00). Rehearsal rental periods of up to four <br />hours shall be at the rate of one hundred forty <br />dollars ($140.00) per rental period; should <br />additional rental time be used for rehearsal, <br />setting up or removing equipment, or other <br /> <br /> <br />
