of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> (c) Exceptions. In the following cases, a minor in or <br />upon a public place under the circumstances prohibited by <br />section (b), shall not be in violation of this ordinance: <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />~en the minor is in possession of a written <br />permission statement as provided for in <br />section (d) of this ordinance. <br /> <br />(ii) <br /> <br />When the mino~ is accompanied by a parent, a <br />legal guardian or an adult (as defined in <br />section (a), (ii) authorized by the parent to <br />supervise such minor. <br /> <br />(iii) <br /> <br />When the minor is engaging in the duties of <br />bona fide employment or while traveling <br />directly, without undue delay or detour from <br />home to the place of employment or from the <br />place of employment to the home. <br /> <br />(iv) <br /> <br />In cases of reasonable necessity. The <br />determination of reasonable necessity shall be <br />made prior to any legal action by consulting <br />the parents/guardians as sooa as practicable. <br />In determining reasonable necessity, <br />consideration may be given to the fact that a <br />minor is returning directly home and is in <br />transit from an event or activity attendance <br />which was authorized by his or her parent that <br />was scheduled to end well before 11:00 p.m. <br />and unforeseen circumstances beyond the <br />control of the minor caused him or her to be <br />out after 11:00 p.m. <br /> <br />(v) <br /> <br />When the minor is on the sidewalk of the place <br />where he/she resides, or on the sidewalk of <br />either next door neighbor if by the neighbor's <br />permission. <br /> <br />(vi) <br /> <br />Inter/Intrastate travel in motor vehicles. <br />This is intended, from excess of caution, to <br />exempt from regulation bona fide intrastate or <br />interstate travel through, beginning and/or <br />ending, in the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> (d) Written Permission. Written permission by the <br />parent can authorize any minor to pursue any lawful activity <br />as defined in section (a)(v). The written permission shall <br />contain the names of the minor and the parent, be signed by at <br />least one parent, and shall include the parent's home address, <br />home and work telephone numbers, and the minor's date of <br />birth. The written permission shall specify the date and the <br />purpose for the minor being in public places during hours in <br /> <br /> <br />
