8-inch service <br />connection <br /> <br />Actual cost of such <br />installation + 25% <br />(minimum $5,800.00). <br /> <br />10-inch service <br /> connection <br /> <br />Actual cost of such <br />installation + 25% <br />(minimum $6,200.00). <br /> <br />(3) The director shall estimate the charge and the applicant <br />will deposit such amount before the work is done. An <br />accounting shall be made of the cost of such installation. If <br />the deposit is less than such charge, the applicant shall pay <br />the difference within ten (10) days, and if the deposit is <br />more than such charge the difference shall be refunded <br />promptly. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 38-48(b) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (1988), be amended and reordained to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-48. <br /> <br />Application for water service; fee for <br />establishing or transferring account. <br /> <br /> (b) When a person applies for initial water service, <br />there shall be a fee of twelve_dollars ($12.00) charged for <br />establishing a new account and turning on water at the new <br />residence. When an existing customer moves from one (1) <br />residence to another, there shall be a fee of five dollars <br />($5.00) for transferring the account and turning on the water <br />at the new residence. <br /> <br /> 3. That Section 38-83 of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (1988), be <br />as follows: <br /> <br />the Code of the City of <br />amended and reordained to read <br /> <br />Section 38-83. Meter rates for water supplied. <br /> <br /> (a) For all water which passes through meters, consumers <br />within the corporate limits of the City shall pay one dollar <br />and ninety-five cents ($1.95) per one thousand (1,000) gallons <br />or one dollar and forty-five and eighty-eight hundredths cents <br />per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> (b) For all water which passes through meters, the <br />customers of the City of Chesapeake who are served by <br />Portsmouth and whose rates are not set by contract shall pay <br />two dollars and ninety-two and five hundredths cents ($2.925) <br />per one thousand (1,000) gallons or two dollars and eighteen <br />and eighty-two hundredths cents ($2.1882) per one hundred <br />(100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> <br />
