AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF DUCHESS ROAD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Guy W~ Drake and Jerre G. Ashberry have made <br />application to vacate and close and discontinue the hereinafter <br />described unimproved portion of Duchess Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted May 24, <br />1994, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section !5.1-364 of <br />the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said portion of Duchess Road; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in <br />their opinion no inconvenience would resUlt from the closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the portion of said street <br />hereinafter described be closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br /> Ail that certain portion of Duchess Road <br />which is bounded and described as follows: <br />Bounded on the east by the right-of-way line <br />of Virginia Avenue, on the west by the <br />right-of-way line of an alley lying between <br />Virginia Avenue and Chautauqua Avenue. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, au a meeting held October 11, 1994. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
