4. Term and Vacancies <br /> <br /> (a) Members. The term as a Member of any sheriff <br /> shall be coincident with his or her service in the office of <br /> sheriff and shall terminate immediately upon such sheriff's <br /> resignation or removal from office, for any reason. The term as <br /> a Member of any city manager shall be coincident with his or her <br /> employment in the office of city manager and shall terminate <br /> immediately upon termination of employment by his or her <br /> Subdivision. If at any time there shall be no individual elected <br /> or employed and serving as sheriff or city manager of a <br /> Subdivision, the Governing Body of that Subdivision may appoint <br /> any individual to serve as its Member pending the election or <br /> employment and qualification of a new sheriff or city manager. <br />Those M~ers appoiP~ed from the Gove-~-ing Bodies of their <br /> Subdivisions shall serve for terms of three (3) years, with <br /> initial terms commencing on the effective date of this Agreement <br /> and ending July 1, 1996. The appointment of a Member who is <br /> appointed from the Governing Body of a Subdivision shall <br /> terminate ~ediately upon such Member's resignation or removal <br /> from the Go~'erning Body of the Subdivision, or expiration of that <br /> Member's el(cted term of office. Any vacancy on the Board with <br /> respect to ~ Member appointed from the Governing Body of a <br /> subdivision shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term <br /> in the same manner as the original appointment was made. <br /> <br /> (t) Alternates.
