Sec. 34-5. Lioense required; fee. <br /> <br /> (a) No person shall operate a public swimming pool unless <br />an annual permit has been secured from the administrative <br />authority of the health department. This permit shall be <br />issued only after approval by the administrative authority, <br />approval by the electrical and plumbing official, application <br />and payment to the health department of a fee of $50.00 for <br />seasonal operation (four (4) months or less) and $75.00 for <br />year round operation. The operation and maintenance of any <br />public swimming pool in a manner not in accordance with the <br />provisions of this chapter will be justification for <br />cancellation of this permit. <br /> <br /> (b) A public swimming pool permit shall be posted in view <br />of the public at the swimming pool involved. <br /> <br /> (c) No public swimming pool permit shall be transferable <br />and any person holding such a permit shall give notice in <br />writing, to the administrative authority within twenty-four <br />(24) hours after having sold, transferred, given away or <br />otherwise disposed of his interest in or control of the pool <br />involved. Such notice shall include the name and address of <br />the person succeeding to the ownership or control of such pool. <br /> <br />Sec. 34-6. Inspections. <br /> <br /> The administrative authority shall have the power to <br />enter, at reasonable times, upon any private property for the <br />purpose Of inspecting and investigating conditions relating to <br />the enforcement of this chapter or regulations adopted pursuant <br />thereto. <br /> <br /> In addition to the inspections required by the department <br />of planning, division of permits and inspections, all piping <br />and appurtenances included in the recirculation and filter <br />system shall be inspected prior to covering. All piping shall <br />be tested at the time of inspection pursuant to the Virginia <br />Uniform Statewide Building Code. <br /> <br />Sec. 34-7. Owner's certificate. <br /> <br /> (a) To secure a pool permit, each public pool shall have <br />a person employed who holds a valid operator's certificate <br />issued by a source approved by the administrative authority. <br />Operator's certificate shall be issued only to an individual <br />over the age of sixteen. An applicant for an operator's <br />certificate shall demonstrate basic knowledge of the water <br />treatment process in public swimming pools. Presentation of a <br />certificate from a swimming pool operators' training course <br />.acceptable to the administrative authority shall constitute <br />demonstration of such knowledge. <br /> <br /> <br />
