SECTION 6. SALARY ADJUSTMENTS AND Ar.nOWANCES <br /> <br />The Director of Personnel shall review departmental requests for <br />administrative sa%ary adjustments and shall make recommendations <br />for consideration by the City Manager. The City Manager retains <br />the authority to make administrative salary adjustments, and no <br />create additional classifications and positions. The reasons for <br />adjustments shall include, but not me limited to: <br /> <br />Performance recognition, positive or negative; <br />Approval of departmental requests for special salary actions, <br />positive or negative; <br />Correction of verified errors in application of the Classifi- <br />cation an~ Pay Plan <br /> <br />Recommendations approved by the City Manager shall become effec- <br />tive on the date determined by the City Manager and after funds <br />have been included in the budget <br /> <br />The rate of pay sen forth in Section 10, entitled Salary <br />Schedule, shall be deemed the full compensation of the employee, <br />except that th~ value of any allowances made uo the employee by <br />the City shall also be considered a part of the employee's com- <br />pensation. <br /> <br />a. On-call <br /> <br />Non-exempt employees who are required to be available for <br />24-hour emergency service and/or repair, and who have been <br />recommended by the Department Head, reviewed by the FLSA <br />Compliance Officer, and approved by the City Manager, may <br />receive an allowance of S90 per month. Exempt employees will <br />non be eligible for this allowance. This allowance is not <br />applicable to Public Safety Personnel. <br /> <br />b. Clothinq <br /> <br />Amy sworn officer of the Fire or Police Deparnments who is <br />required no wear civilian clothes in the regular performance <br />of official duties shall be paid a clothing allowance of S50 <br />per month <br /> <br />c. Handgun <br /> <br />Sworn personnel, except the Chief of Police, shall receive an <br />allowance of S70 per month as compensation for being required <br />to wear a handgun ~t all times and to properly maintain such <br />weapon. <br /> <br />-7- <br /> <br /> <br />
